is an eco-friendly herb and whole food extract company, founded by April Palmer LAc, a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist, in private practice for over 7 years, who saw an immense need for easy, simple to use, and effective remedies for common complaints. Palmer has seen thousands of patients who complain about taking "too many pills" and who feel like the root cause of symptoms is not being addressed by most current medicine. Western medicine is very effective at life or death emergencies as well as surgery (when needed), but is not very good at managing chronic conditions or simple common complaints, such as chronic or acute ear infections, insomnia, digestive complaints, or the common cold. This is why we formed EcoHerbal; to address these imbalances that are easily managed with Traditional Chinese Medicine, but not addressed by other products on the market or by traditional Western approaches. Please contact us at ecoherbal@hotmail.com with any questions about us or our products.
What makes EcoHerbal "eco-friendly"?
We buy organic herbs whenever they are available and use reduced packaging to keep our environmental impact as low as possible. Even the paper we use in our brochures and office are made from recycled paper. At EcoHerbal, we really believe in being good stewards of the environment - it's not just part of a marketing campaign. We also use açaí berry in our Ear Formula, our product for ear infections. açaí berry is wild harvested in the Amazon Rain Forest and promotes the use of the Rain Forest, and not the abuse of it. açaí berry is a well known antioxidant, with over three times the antioxidant levels found in blueberries, and it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Anyone suffering from acute or chronic ear infections needs an extra boost to their immune system and açaí berry was added to our Ear Formula for this purpose. In fact, EcoHerbal is unique in that we believe that food is a form of medicine and that a combination of herbs and whole food extracts as well as dietary and lifestyle changes are often needed to tackle the most stubborn of problems, such as chronic ear infections.
As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), we believe that we are a part of our surroundings and are not separate from our environment. Just as dumping pollutants into a river will have long term consequences to ecosystems and people who depend on the river, dumping toxins (bad food, unmanaged emotions, too many medications) into our bodies will have long term consequences. We never look only at individual body parts when we examine a patient. We look at the WHOLE person to evaluate what is out of balance. This is why our formulas tend to have many herbs in them as they are ADDRESSING THE ROOT cause of imbalances, which are often complicated.
